How do you tell time in Hindi.

एक बजा है |  (ek bajaa hain)

It is 1 o’ clock.

दो बजे हैं | (do baje hain)

It is 2 o’clock.

तीन बजे हैं | (teen baje hain)

It is 3 o’clock.

“बजे” comes from the verb “बजना ” (bajnaa) which means “to ring” in English.

“दो बजे हैं | (do baje hain)” literally means  two bells have rung.

तीन बजे हैं | (teen baje hain)” literally means three bells have rung.
