We will learn Hindi equivalent of “should”
We will learn to make sentences like “I should learn Hindi” or “Peter should drink water” or “Monika should go to office” in Hindi
The sentence stucture is :
subject – object- root verb –ना/नी/ने– चाहिए (chaahiye)
For masculine objects, the root verb should take suffix –ना (naa)
मुझे चाय पीना चाहिए | (mujhe chaay peenaa chahiye)
I should drink tea
For feminiine objects, the root verb should take suffix –नी (nee)
मुझे कॉफ़ी पीनी चाहिए | (mujhe coffee peenee chahiye)
I should drink coffee
For multiple objects, the root verb should take suffix –ने(ne)
मुझे पैसे देने चाहिए | (mujhe paise dene chahiye)
I should give money

I should go home |
पीटर ने पानी पीना चाहिए |
peter ne paani peenaa cha |
Peter should drink water |
मोनिका ने ऑफिस जाना चाहिए |
monikaa ne office jaana chahiye |
Monika should go to office |
हमें शराब नहीं पीनी चाहिए |
hame sharab naheen peene chahiye |
We should not drink alcohol |
हमें काम करना चाहिए |
hame kaam karnaa chahiye |
We should work |
तुम्हे घर जाना चाहिए |
tumhe ghar jaanaa chahiye |
you should go home |
